We begin by selecting tanneries renowned for their high-quality hides. Once we are confident in the tanneries’ quality, our skilled “talabarteros” meticulously inspect the hides, selecting only one in ten, meeting the specific properties required for the eleven individual pieces comprising each protector. Every Blokit piece is crafted by hand, starting with thermo-forming the main components, followed by multiple rounds of stitching, thermal pressing, finishing, polishing, and, if requested, personalized customization. To achieve Blokit’s protective capabilities, we conducted extensive research on materials capable of dispersing and absorbing the energy from the impact of a high-speed polo ball or mallet. After rigorous testing at leading laboratories in the U.S., we selected a combination of materials designed to dissipate and absorb the energy needed to allow for a safe performance. Our impact-absorbing material remains soft and flexible yet becomes firm on contact to provide optimal protection.
